1-Go to Learner.org and select 2 vidoes or lessons and post the videos or lesson into your WIKI and this exam and explain HOW you would or could use them with students, BE CREATIVE!!!
1. http://learner.org/interactives/historical/
This would be an excellent tool that could be used to help to students learn about how to properly judge research materials and what ranking the material might be (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary) in a fun, interactive manner.
2. http://learner.org/resources/series197.html
This could be used as part of group research project. Different videos could be assigned to different group. Those groups could then use the video as a starting point their research the video’s topic and finding more information that can then be presented to the class.
2-Go to YouTube, Yahoo vidoes, Teachertube and find ONE video that you feel helps SUPPORT the use of software, hardware in lessons and class projects. Please add comments as well. WHy you chose the video and YOUR ideas.
( make sure you have created your OWN free Teacher tube account- good site because it is edited for content and school use)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W14CInvw9Ao
I felt that, even though the video did not necessarily mention software, hardware or lesson plans directly, it was still a powerful video on why technology in education is important. It details the advances we have made and are continuing to make every day. It really puts it into perspective at how much our world has changed in the past 25 years alone.
3- Select 5software applications or WIDGETS that you discovered during this course- attach a link to them here on the TEST and explain in detail how you would use each of them in your teaching.
- Ancient Egyptians (School Version) Hybrid CD - This would be a great tool for group projects because it offers different activities that both students and teachers can use as a driving force for lessons. Students can interact and even ask questions with the characters on the program.
- World History I*- This tool could be in many ways: individual work, in lectures and group work. It also has practice quizzes and numerous reference materials the students can access that they may not otherwise be able to access.
- Multimedia Backpack- This is a great resource for designing lessons around, whether it is worksheets, tests, group projects, discussions, or research assignment. It also offers media in different formats (MP3s, animations, etc). It would also be great as a back-up plan for when you forget your lesson planner at home or substitutes!
- http://www.notely.net/ :This is a great online resource to allow students to save the notes and schedules online. It allows students to set up practice quizzes, class schedules, to do lists and more. It even has a FaceBook Application that will allow you access to your Calendar, Homework planner, notebook and more. Since so many students are using FaceBook now, they would be a way that students could collaborate since you can link to friends.
- http://www.studystack.com/: This is an excellent site where you can upload your notes to create our own flash cards and games or students can use pre-made topics. Another great thing is that you can add it to your Facebook profile. I highly recommend it.
4. Due to INCLUSION it is important for ALL teachers to be aware of technology integration for use with special needs students (ESE)- Please FIND 2 other web sites along withwww.cec.sped.org, link them and find a total of 6 applications from those sites that would be beneficial with inclusion students in your FUTURE classrooms.
