First, I attempted to choose the Social Studies option, “African Trail” (www.thelearningcompany.com). However, the link did not work. After some searching, I found out that this company is no longer available online, only with registered retailers. So I chose plan B. I went to www.tomsnyder.com and chose one of the programs for Social Studies, Inspirer Geography Series. The Inspirer Geography Series includes six different titles: National Inspirer 4.0, The Civil War Inspirer, Europe Inspirer 4.0, International Inspirer 4.0, African Inspirer 4.0, and Asia Inspirer 4.0. I found this to be an excellent resource that had many activities available, such as scavenger hunts and lesson plans. It can be used for both group and individual assignments/projects. It can help individuals learn to find the different states of the United States and countries of the world. In groups, students can travel through different regions, researching their different resources and characteristics or participate in different types team competitions. Overall, I found this to be a great tool that a teacher can use to both teach new and reinforce old information.
